The way I now look at a plate of beans with two eggs over easy…
I have never eaten a lot of beans.
This week I’ve started every day with a can of beans and two eggs, and I am wondering where beans have been all my life.
It all started when my dear friend gifted me a can of Heinz Beanz in a rich tomato sauce British recipe. Apparently, it’s a very British thing.
I was feeling bored of my usual oatmeal, and the can had been in the pantry for way too long, so I tried it out.
Life. Changed.
I crave beans now. And not just the British kind.
I went to the Walmart and walked down the bean aisle with the “I’ll take one of each approach.”
Of the plain variety, I think kidney beans have been my favorite so far.
Of the flavored variety the British beans are still winning, though I haven’t tried the very sweet American style baked beans. I know they’d be absolutely delicious, but I’m currently trying to lose some fat, and I don’t have room for the extra sugar in my budget at the moment.
I love beans; I just didn’t know it.
I also ordered some dry heirloom beans to try cooking myself. Really looking forward to that.
