This movie really worked for me. The music, the sound design, the lighting, the camera work, the colors, the tone, the acting. Close shot after close shot of tiny details that somehow told a story and epitomized “show, don’t tell.” So many well composed shots made this a joy to watch as someone who enjoys photography. The story was simple, but that simplicity was profound.
The double take at a wedding dress and the symbolism of a character playing the piano song about a child falling asleep were a couple examples of how something simple spoke volumes.
