Ever order a dish because it looks incredible on the menu, only to be let down? Then order it again next time, hoping this time will be different? For me, that's shrimp scampi. And gangster movies are my cinematic shrimp scampi.

Goodfellas is one of the most famous in the genre, so I had higher hopes than usual. I can see why it's a classic. But I don't enjoy spending time with monstrous people and their miserable lives. At one point I honestly couldn't tell whether I was watching Goodfellas or rewatching The Irishman. At this point, it might be time to admit I just don't like gangster movies.
